National Veterans Wellness and Healing CenterAngel Fire, New Mexico“The National Veterans Wellness and Healing Center in Angel Fire, Inc. (NVW&HC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated as a result of a study conducted by the Village of Angel Fire and the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services, alongside Angel Fire business and community partners. The mission of the NVW&HC is to establish an environment that is responsive to the needs of veterans and military families using creative therapies and processes that focus on emotional and physical healing. In 2009, NVW&HC began retreats for veteran families who had been diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Eleven veterans and their spouses successfully completed the week-long retreat and have been celebrating their success since.” |

Paws and Stripes“On average, it can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $30,000 for a service dog. Health Insurance does not cover these costs for PTSD and other “cognitive” disorders, and veterans are more than likely unable to cover such a financial blow. Paws and Stripes provides these dogs interactively with no cost at all to the veteran. “Every dog in our program originates from local shelters and foster homes rather than from breeders. There are enough homeless dogs in the country that need homes, and we strive to help alleviate this problem rather than add to it. This also allows the veteran to meet and actively choose what dog is right for him/her, regardless of breed. “Providing service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, and other psychiatric and mental impairments provides a sense of safety, stability, and camaraderie that help make society seem less threatening and stressful.” |

The Warrior’s Guide To Worlds at War: The Dragon has Awakened
| My second book is now available, in several formats. | Paper Book | eBook (Kindle, iPad, etc.) |
| This Nation faces a potential crisis on an unprecedented scale. Never in our history have so many Warriors experienced so much combat; the killing, the loss, the sense of abandonment and alienation from the country they fought to defend. This book discusses in brutally honest fashion, exactly what lies ahead for our young men and women, our Heroes from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. This work is a startling glimpse into their brave hearts and the wounded souls of those who would die for what they believe in.
You can read the first chapter, My Friend the Beast, and the third chapter, Your Journey to the Summit: Warrior Tools for Survival. |
